It’s getting late Or maybe early I’ve been outside Can’t keep it on me Warm me up I’ll feel the rush Slip on down Spin me around On weekdays I won’t stop walking In circles I’m keen to talk and Living through The weeks again Count the days Without my friends Keep my head up on my shoulders Got all the time to be older dear Through the eyes of your beholders Makes them think that you’re all over it Small talk With a friendly neighbour Just like An empty container Red clay On the streets again Rain will come And blacken them Idle, Aimless and weary Leaves us higher But teary Falling over steps On days When the weather Beams down rays Keep my head up on my shoulders Got all the time to be older dear Through the eyes of your beholders Makes them think that you’re all over it

If I was a man Would I ever know Id clean my shirt Iron my pants My car would be the biggest that you’ve ever seen If I was a woman I wouldn’t let a man tell me how to live my life The contradiction in the words Is absurd Tell the day how to be the night And don't catch a chill I thought the earth was meant to be a little warmer Feels like i'm tryna' Coax a fish out of the water Water on my back Makes me feel a little bit better Then I feel ill Seeing all the people in the water Tryna' make themselves feel better If I was never here Would I ever know Its gotta get a little darker To get a little brighter The ghost is in the plato And don't trust your emotions It's much better in your gut Oh how absurd It's that you'll never ever be heard By anyone So I just strum If I was a man Id have my own show Its gotta get a little darker To get a little deeper No one should ever no Just how your coping Im not coping Just how your crossing Looking left and right Just what your knowing Im not knowing very much Well thank you very much

about

We are thrilled to be announcing the new project from two of Melbourne/Naarm’s most exciting groups; Bones and Jones, and Folk Bitch Trio. The collaborative project was born out of a mutual respect for each other's music, and a thought that perhaps Bones and Jones pop/rock sounds could couple perfectly with the heavenly three part harmonies of Folk Bitch Trio; and they were right.

The bands worked over one weekend to record and produce two tracks for their collaborative 7” vinyl, which is to be released via Bonsai Records. They recorded in an old apple cool room turned state art studio Big Fridge Sounds, which is home to sound engineer Jasper Jolley (Bones and Jones) on regional Vic/Wurundjeri Country.

The collaboration was initially launched to a sold out Curtin band room in late November of 2021. They captivated the audience with music made together, with the live renditions of these tracks becoming larger than life. Combining Forces Folk Bitch Trio X Bones and Jones join together again for something truly special.
